about

Mario’s Cap - Graham Mackenzie
The Lass from Skye - Graham Mackenzie
Reelin’ Doon Bridge Street - Graham Mackenzie

Mario Colosimo is a well known pianist I met whilst studying at Cape Breton University. I have him and his wife Carol to thank for my experience there, helping me to see the island and hear its music. Mario’s trade mark was his flat cap. The Lass from Skye is written for great clarsach player, Ciorstaidh Beaton. Reelin’ Doon Bridge Street was the title given to a tune bought at a charity auction by John Cromarty. The name comes from his experience participating in ‘The Ba’ held in Kirkwall, Orkney.
